Jaap and family on Hoher Riffler (3168 m)

Last week Jaap, Rina, Charlotte and Lisanne succeeded their second attempt. The first one failed in extreme snow conditions, but although there was snow now this time they were successful on August 14 2002.

14-Aug-2002 -- They started at the Edmund Graf Hütte at 08.10 in the morning and after a severe climb in the snow at 11.45 they reached the highest summit of this part of Austria. For Jaap it was even his third time. The Hoher Riffler is kind of special to the Van Duffelen family. Jaap's mother Iet celebrated here 70th birthday in 1995 on this summit with here husband Kees and three of here children Jaap, Els and Truus. Kees (78) and Iet (77) stayed in the Edmund Graf Hütte today to welcome the successful quartet when the returned at 15.15 tired but safely.
